Our process
Sewing is 100% women
99% of the cutting, sewing and finishes are made by me, Sara Maternini.
The remaining 1% is accomplished by the helping hands of my mother, the supreme quality manager.
In the future we plan to outsource part of the production to local women seamstress.
Hand-printed
Some of our bags are printed by hand, from my own sketches, carved by hand on on natural lino, or screen printed, or using my own stencils.
Each design is printed on small batches of bags, numbered one by one.
No waste
All the fabrics we buy are used to the last millimetre: there is virtually no waste in our production, as every one of our project bag is carefully designed to make the most of the fabric.
With the few remains we have we create beautiful patchworks that make some of our bags.
