At La Cave à Laine we choose everything very carefully, from fabric to thread, to yarn, with the future of our world in mind: minimum waste, all natural, no animal derivates.
OUR FABRICS: 100% NATURAL
Our products are made only with cotton, from thread to fabric.
There is no interfacing, metal or plastic involved.
Fabrics are carefully chosen from trusted European suppliers in fashionable colours and prints. All fabrics have the Okeo-Tex ® Standard label.
In 2020 we are introducing our first line of hand-dyed organic cotton project bags.
SEWING: 100% BY WOMEN
99% of the cutting, sewing and finishes are made by me, Sara Maternini.
The remaining 1% is accomplished by the helping hands of my mother, the supreme quality manager.
In the future we plan to outsource part of the production to local women seamstress.
PRINTING: 100% HAND PRINTED
All our tote and sock bags are printed by hand, from my own sketches, transferred on natural lino and cut by hand. Each design is then hand printed on small batches of cotton totes (soon organic), numbered one by one.
FINISHING: 100% HANDMADE
Hiding threads, adding tags, stamping logos... Every product is made from start to finish by hand. This way we can assure you that we are offering outstanding quality products made with dedication and care.
NO WASTE: 100% ECO FRIENDLY
All the fabrics we buy are used to the last millimetre: there is virtually no waste in our production, as every one of our project bag is carefully designed to make the most of the fabric.
Our products are completely washable, as there is no interfacing or other materials that could interfere with a water bath.
Although is preferable to wash them by hand, you can also use the delicate cycle of your washing machine.
A slight shrinkage may occur. Iron when still dump.
PATTERNS: 100% KNITTING FUN
When you knit one of our knitting patterns rest assured that they are designed to make the most of your yarn, filled with details, and professionally tech edited, because your knitting time is worth it.
